The way I see it, if both traders agree on the trade- regardless it’s shiny for non-shiny, IV for shiny, legendary for rare ball mons, events for Vivillon patterns, it’s a fair trade because they both agreed on it. I’m positive there are hundreds of players who are just like you they collect shinies and IV breed/comp battle and would never trade a hard earned shiny for a high IV regular Pokemon, but they could also lean more toward comp battling than shiny collecting, and think trading off their 1IV shiny for a 5IV non-shiny is perfectly fair. It just depends on what one prefers to have over something else. What may be unfair to one trader, could be totally fair to another. Sorry it took me so long to reply!
